Manual Bilge Pump

Filed under: Ongoing boat tally, Upgrades — oday22 @ 12:53 am

There is about 2 inches of water gathered in the bilge. I could either use a length of tube and try siphoning the water out and risk accidentally drinking stale-old-bacteria-infested water or I can get a manual bilge pump to pump it out and keep it later onboard to possibly save me and the boat from an offshore sinking catastrophe. I opted for the latter. It set me back $31.24 from West Marine but I’d say it was a good investment.

i have a 22 foot oday and i bought one of these and thought i had pumped out the water but when we sailed the boat and got into good wind and we heeled over quite a bit water came into the floor of the cabin..we just bought the boat and it had sat in the water for some time and not used…any ideas?

OK, we have the exact boat. With the exact problem. Does this model have a bilge pump or is it all manual. We pumped it out today, and 12 Walnuts came up throught the hole, so obviously, a squirell/chipmunck was involved last winter

    Any idea’s
